I rarely concern myself with the "news"

I do, however, often find it amusing. It's becoming a bit of an unsettling ability to find at least a few ridiculously entertaining (usually something ironic about the world outside the store, or the words inside) aspects of *each* report I actually checkout (and other times I struggle not to get angered by these reports)

Consider this..

This is one that actually angered me a bit. More precisely, it touches on a frustration of mine with contemporary medicine and science.

"It is thought she revived after the effect of drugs - given to her mother during a complicated labour - wore off."

these are the sentences that stick out to me.

I won't go into the tyraid now, but contemporary medicine has completely *fucked* childbirth.. amongst other things (and in consideration of our species' survival.. I think this is an important matter).

If, and when you are going through, or accompanying someone through a pregnancy, please, please, take the time to educate yourselves and make your own choices.

Deciding whether or not some drug, even under the guise as a "medicine," or "procedure," deserves more consideration than the 5 seconds (or even minutes) hospital staff give you.

Understand that the common belief is that our birthrates are rising, when in fact, complications and difficulty in birth is rising. Fewer and fewer women in America are giving birth on their own. I don't mean alone, or at home, I mean without the intervention of hospital staff - not good.

in other news...

what do I find amusing here?

after all the arrests, trials, media, and waste of time, money and energy, the problem still exists; Naples is still run by the mafia, and is actually in *terrible* shape.

I've a friend who just returned from a semester in Italy, and who traveled through Naples before leaving Europe. She shared her amusement in this matter too, explaining how there are massive *piles* of trash, everywhere.

Yes.. the mafia runs the garbage collection in the surrounding areas, dumping their collection trucks on land all over Naples.

Interesting..

(now we know why those travel deals to Naples are so cheap! ..but it's ITALY! it must be nice.. ahhh.. marketing..)

OK.. I'm adding this as an after thought (I guess today is news day..)

clicky clicky..

The important line:

"But Mr McCain can draw on the deep pockets of the Republican National Committee, which has far more money than the Democratic National Committee, correspondents say."

let's think about this for a moment..

. every republican president of the last 40 years has managed to turn this nation's debt into a new record

and

. the republican national committee has more financial assets than their rivals?

hmmm...

holy hell, does this government frustrate me..

How can you say such a thing about chicken noodle soup? Millions worldwide have been magically cured of a broad range of sicknesses from this magical man-made combination of chicken and noodles and soup.

You must be confused with the garlic soup thing. Or maybe I had a typo. Because I'm not trying to ward off vampires...yet.

However I am open minded so I will try it next time I'm bed-ridden. Good day.
